Welcome to Dacula Football
Dacula Football is a voting member of the Gwinnett Football League (GFL). The Dacula Football Board supports and actively participates in the GFL and adheres to all rules set forth by this governing body. All dates and schedules are established by the GFL. Although every effort is made, schedules are usually not complete until Jamboree week.
2015 Football Information
August 15th – Jamboree
Details for Jamboree will be communicated out by your team mom.
August 16th – Picture Day
Picture times and locations will be communicated out by your team mom.
August 20th – Raffle Tickets Due
Stubs from raffle ticket sales are due. Parents can turn these into their team mom.
August 22nd – Week 1 games & Raffle Drawing
The schedules are put together by the GFL Executive Board. Due to the complexity of the organization schedules are done by hand and are not usually available until the week before the season starts. Dacula had no control over the scheduling. The raffle drawing will take place during halftime of the last game played at Dacula.
October 24th – Playoffs begin
November 14th – Championship Games
This year we will be doing a gas card raffle as the main football fundraiser. Each player will be required to pay the $50 during registration. You may pick up the raffle tickets at walk up registration. You will sell 50 raffle tickets for $1 each, which will recoup your investment if you sell all 50 tickets or you may choose to keep them for yourself and write your name on them. The raffle will take place on August 22, 2015 at Dacula Park. We will draw 20 names and each person will win a $50 Gas Card. One Grand Prize winner will win a game system.
Again this year for Football instead of teams providing volunteers to work gate duty the hour and a half prior to their “home” game at Dacula Park they will now be providing 3 volunteers to work the concession stand. Your team will only be assigned to work concessions if your team has a home game at Dacula Park that day. Your teams shift will be during the game before yours.
For more information on this new process visit www.dacula.com.
If you have not submitted an original birth certificate that has been certified by DAA then you will need to bring an original, raised seal birth certificate and a copy of that birth certificate to walk up registration or the first day of evaluations. This is for players that are NEW to Dacula Football. Returning players from last season are already on file. We will review your original, stamp the copy that we have seen the original and return your original birth certificate back to you. We will keep the new, stamped copy on file as long as you play in Dacula. (If you did this last year you DO NOT have to do it again.)
You MUST bring a completed physical signed by an MD, DO, NP or PA to evaluations. If your age group is not having evaluations you will need to bring it on the first day of practice. If you came to the Dacula Physical day on June 22nd at Dr. Buchanan’s then your physical is already on file.
The physical form was revised last year and you must use the one with revised 1/12 on the lower right hand corner. They will not accept older versions of the physical at certification this year. Physicals must also have the original doctor’s inked signature. No stamped signatures, faxes or copies will be accepted. If your physical is completed by your doctor on another form it must say “cleared for football” on it and you will need to attach the GFL physical to the front of it and fill out the parent section. This is the parent’s responsibility to take care of. Your child WILL NOT be allowed on the field without their physical form on file. NO EXCEPTIONS. DAA is working to provide physicals for a nominal fee again this year. More information will be sent out through mass email once a date is confirmed.
DAA will provide a game jersey, use of game pants and an alternate jersey. Each player must provide a helmet (San Francisco Gold), shoulder pads, pants pads, practice pants/jersey, cleats and a mouth piece.
Each player will be required to pay a mandatory $70 spirit fee the first week of practice. 100% of this fee is allocated to your child’s team budget and covers items such as trophies, jersey lettering, socks, roster shirts, banquet, pep rallies, etc.
From July 27th to August 6th practice will be held every night from 6pm to 8pm for 6 year old thru 10 year old and 8pm to 10pm for 11 year old thru 8th grade. There will be no practice on August 7th due to Saturday scrimmages. Starting on August 10th practice will be held every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 7:30pm for 6 year old thru 10 year old , 7:30pm to 9pm for 11 & 12 year old and 7:30pm to 9:30pm for 8th grade. All practices are held at Dacula Park. Your Head Coach will inform you what field your practice will be on.
Mass email and your team mom are the main source of communication we will be using to get information out to the parents.
